You are a so right, I had virgin media in 2019, they where terrible, their internet would break down randomly, their solution to that problem is to restart the router. I would just go pick one of the "gaming" routers from someone like ASUS for the top end of my budget, but maybe someone has a better solution? Cause I stream, I want something that is going to be reliable and not require hours/days/weeks of fiddling to get it set up proper.Īny recommendations welcomed. While I do posses an above average knowledge of computers and networking, I really would like an easy to use system.I have an Edimax WAP1750 access point - It's a loaner from a friend but is more than enough - so I think having Wifi on the router is not a primary concern (or required at all?).There are just 2 people in the house - each with their own laptop and phones. My 2 streaming computers are ethernet'd up.I game online (who doesn't) while streaming.Having a stable connection and giving that outgoing traffic priority would be nice. So, I want a new router - here is my current use: The interface is naff as well, slow as hell. The consensus is the "router" in the Super Hub 3 is crap and it's best to just put it in modem mode and then use a better stand-alone router. Only way to maintain a stable connection is by using static IP's.which is OK, it gets the job done, but DHCP is just so handy for random devices that connect to the network (light bulbs, TV's etc). It's stopped wanting to issue IP's using DHCP, or it will issue, but then half hour later it will just suddenly stop working. My SuperHub 3 has been playing up for a few days. First, I know this kind of question is asked a lot - but there may be something specific about my needs that would warrant different suggestions to the other threads that have been on this topic.
